Clues in the Belindo House In the family room, you find Troy's pet cat, Ninny, and a houseplant that's been recently clawed up. In the kitchen, you find evidence that Troy and his girlfriend Rosario had hot dogs with mushrooms for dinner. According to the calendar, exterminators from the Hitchcock Chemical Company were supposed to have come over today. There is an open carton of milk in the refrigerator. The clock on the microwave indicates that there's been a power failure. Poking through the kitchen garbage turns up an empty "Donnybrook Farms" milk bottle. Mrs. Belindo claims she was bitten by a spider, and so she called the exterminators, but says they never came. She drinks a glass of cold milk, and gives some to Ninny the cat. She says her houseplant, an "Amyrillis Belladonna," is deadly poisonous. Rosario is convinced that the tattoo Troy got two days ago is responsible for his illness. She says she and Troy both had hot dogs with mushrooms for dinner, but that she sauteed her mushrooms in butter before eating them. She remembers that Troy first had a glass of milk, but after tasting it he poured it all out and had soda instead. Rosario never completely finished her soda. ![]() ![]() |
