Scurvy?

"I think it's scurvy," you say. "It's pretty clear their diet was terrible."

"The symptoms aren't right," Claudia says. "I don't think scurvy causes a fever. And everyone ate the same thing. Why didn't everyone get scurvy?"

William nods in agreement. "I do believe there's a different answer," he says thoughtfully. He pulls out his piece of paper.

"You keep jotting on that," Claudia observes. "Are you ever going to twig us what it's about?"

"It's a chart," William says. "A chart of the mystery." He lays it on the table, and you and Claudia crowd around him for a look.
