Fran Has Another Theory ou begin to tell Fran your theory, but she's too impatient. "Let me see that," she says, and grabs the clipboard away from you. Her eyes dart over the results. "Wait a minute," she says. "According to this, it can't be a virus, or a chemical. Because the mouse tested with F0A didn't get sick." Her eyes travel down the page. "And it can't be a fungus. They're larger than 10 microns, but the F100A mouse didn't get sick either. It was the F5A mouse that got sick. It's bacteria," she concludes finally. Thrusting the clipboard back at you, Fran turns on her heel and marches outside. You hear her talking to someone, then a motor scooter starts up and putt-putts away. Fran comes back in holding a box. "I've sent word back to the hospital," she says, "that it's bacteria. Meanwhile, we have another problem." |
